About Me

We have the movements within us but so often have forgotten how to access them or our brain has become fearful of exploration.

Over the past 14 years I have attended professional training in hands-on bodywork including assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of minor and chronic musculoskeletal pain and injury;

Pilates matwork, reformer & studio; Movement Therapy and Alignment including foot health & gait analysis to help guide people in pain & discomfort.

In learning these varied and different approaches there are fundamental elements that are consistent across all disciplines.  Guiding people in pain & discomfort to take ownership of their own body helps us learn how and where we move and enables us to gain a better understanding of aches, pains, and sensations.

‘Finding Centre’ ‘managing our mass’ helps us unpick how our whole system responds when we move; understanding why we are where we are and starting to unravel the layers that put us there.

Words like strength, flexibility, stretching, tight can be confusing and sometimes misleading; you can’t have stability without mobility and mobility without stability; efficient movement needs both rigid and mobile adaptors; to move forward we must be able to leave the space that we are currently in; efficiently and effortlessly.

We have the movements within us; in the first 13 months of our development we naturally explore movement patterns without being taught; but so often we have forgotten how to access them or our brain has become fearful of unfamiliar experiences.

Developing a toolbox of fundamental movement patterns that you can practice, revisit, and develop will always allow you to listen to your body and remind you what you are capable of.  Never stop exploring and never stop listening to your body.
