Private Sessions

Taking ownership for our movement journey can be overwhelming. Everyone’s body is different, and all our history is unique but getting to grips with the basics and exploring the fundamentals is a great place to start.

There is no ‘quick fix’, real change takes time, and you need to be equipped with the right ‘tools’ to start you on the right pathway. Pain and discomfort in a specific area is often a sign that movement is not fully integrated, and ‘balance’ has been lost.

Private sessions allow you to gain a fuller understanding of where you are in your body and more importantly where you are not. We can entirely focus on you, your patterns and explore changes that you can implement to start moving towards a more efficient, balanced, and centered approach to your movement.

Private Sessions are most effective when spaced out over an agreed period.  I always like to start with a minimum of two sessions to enable us to identify where you are in your journey and discuss where you are looking to go.  We can also begin to look at guided practice and daily habit adjustments for you to integrate in between sessions.

Change Takes Time, We Need to be Realistic

I work with people over weeks, months or longer and this can be a combination of in person and/or online sessions as well as guided homework practice.

Change can and will be tiring and challenging…..unpicking and resetting patterns requires work and investment in the process.

“Thank you so much ….. It was a lot to take in ….. I was exhausted towards the end of the session, but which was probably a good thing. Very invested in this process and will do the exercises until we meet next”

Regular practice is about integration into your daily life and activities, exploring what we have discussed and making small adjustments; adjusting your posture whilst doing the dishes; changing your workspace to create more variation of movement; adapting your position whilst in the car for long periods of time; taking your awareness to your breathing and how your position can affect this…..the more our brain experiences difference the more it will look and adapt to change.

All the practices and homework we discuss can be adapted to you and fit with how you like to work; the main thing is to be honest with yourself and your expectations; this is your journey and realistic goals are part of it – it is often the smallest of changes that can be the most impactful.

“I feel really positive this morning, I was worried I was a lost cause!!”

I am so lucky that I can work with people & support them on their movement journey. No one should feel like a lost cause, learning about where you are in your body & seeing where you are not can be hugely impactful & helpful.  Going back to basics & the fundamentals can open so many doors for us to walk through literally & metaphorically.
